Dr. Tagwa Ahmed Musa is a Petroleum Engineering associate professor at the Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST). She has been the Dean of College of Petroleum Engineering and Technology at SUST since 2014. She has significant research and teaching experience and had made contributions in the field of petroleum engineering at the local and international level. She is the first woman in Sudan earn a Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering. She received 2017 IEOM Women in Industry and Academia Award.

She is a member of several technical and voluntary societies such as the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), Sudan Association of Petroleum Geoscientists (SAPEG), Sudan Engineering Society, and Society of Women in the Petroleum Industry. She has published more than 16 papers and one book in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. She supervised more than 24 Bsc, 21 Msc and 4 PhD students. She has been a member of technical and program committees for many conferences, such as NATC, MEALF, and EGYPS, for several years and is also a member of the HRPUB and JNES journal editorial boards.

Additionally, she has been the External Examiner since 2012 for the Department of Petroleum and Energy Dodoma U. (Tanzania), External Funded Project Reviewer for UTP (Malaysia), Staff Promotion judgment at U. of Hadramout (Yemen), Membership Director of the SPE Sudan Section, and Faculty Advisor for the SPE Sudan University Student Chapter. She is a member of the Consultancy Council for Sudan's Ministry of Oil and Gas, Committee Member of Engineering and Technicians Studies at the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry, and serves on the Assessment of Sudanese Engineering Colleges Committee for the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry.

Dr. Tagwa has a B. Tech (Honors, First class) degree from Sudan University of Science and Technology, M. Eng. and Ph.D. from China University of Geosciences in 2005; all in Petroleum Engineering. For more information: http://staff.sustech.edu/tagwamusa/en
