Passion Fuels Lassonde Students to Create Societal Change
From eradicating poverty to promoting gender equality, Lassonde School of Engineering students at York University in Toronto, Canada are empowered to create change. They are making a difference in their local and global communities. Janusz Kozinski, dean of the Lassonde School of Engineering, is a GEDC Member.
In partnership with Habitat for Humanity, female students from Lassonde came together in September to build houses for families in need of safe and affordable housing.
Earlier in the year, the school ran its first ever Lassonde Women’s Weekend, an overnight discovery trip designed to let young women explore their passions and learn how they can change the world with engineering.
