Boeing engineer finds roots of sustainability in nature

A Boeing Research & Technology lab is a natural place to find Alicia Piscitelli, a materials, process and physics engineer. Piscitelli studies the properties of composite materials from creation to decomposition. Her research helps Boeing quantify — and reduce — carbon emissions throughout a product’s life cycle. She’s discovering renewable, nature-based materials, and she’s intent on reducing industry’s reliance on fossil fuels across the supply chain.
