Ishik University, Iraq
Ahmet Oztas has born in Gaziantep/Turkey in 1963. He has started his higher education in mathematics at Inonu University, Malatya/Turkey and then studied civil engineering at Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul/Turkey.
He has started to work in the construction sector in different private companies as site engineer, structural engineer, and quantity surveyor and then joined to Gaziantep university, Civil Engineering Department as a research assistant in 1989. While he is working at Gaziantep University he has been awarded a PhD scholarship by Turkish Higher Education Council (YOK) in 1990.
He has completed his Ph.D study in Civil and Structural Engineering Department, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST) in Manchester/ U.K. at 1995.
He has 10 years teaching experience as full time lecturer in Gaziantep University, Gaziantep/Turkey from 1996 to 2006. He has worked as the dean of Engineering Faculty in Epoka University, Tirana/Albania from 2008 to 2012. He has more than 50 publications in his research area.
He is now working as the Rector of Ishik University at Erbil, Iraq since September 2012.
