Curriculum Redefined: Leveraging Generative AI and MATLAB in Engineering Education

This webinar will present an overview of best practices and relevant use cases for employing Generative AI in engineering education. It will address academic integrity considerations and demonstrate practical applications of these technologies in instructional settings. The session will dive into the use of MATLAB Copilot for developing instructional content, implementing projects with Arduino hardware, and conducting student assessments. The webinar will conclude by outlining resources provided by MathWorks to support educators and students in integrating Generative AI with MATLAB, as well as highlighting opportunities to contribute feedback and help shape future initiatives aimed at advancing engineering education.

Presenter

Dr. Will Greenwood is a principal education engineer at MathWorks. He supports programs and products in the Education Marketing organization related to curriculum development, hardware connectivity, and generative AI. Prior to joining MathWorks, Will was an Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at San Jose State University. Will received a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor specializing in geotechnical earthquake engineering.
