We are pleased to announce the official launch of the third edition of the Engineering for One Planet (EOP) Framework, titled: “Foundational Learning Outcomes to Prepare Engineers to Protect and Improve Earth and the Life it Sustains” (2026).
This updated edition represents a significant step forward in advancing engineering education that is responsive to global sustainability challenges. The revised framework reflects extensive collaboration among educators, researchers, and industry leaders worldwide, and incorporates key updates to better prepare engineers with the knowledge, skills, and values required to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.
The EOP Framework continues to serve as a comprehensive guide for integrating sustainability into engineering curricula. The 2026 edition strengthens its focus on actionable learning outcomes, interdisciplinary approaches, and real-world applicability, ensuring that engineering graduates are equipped to address complex environmental and societal issues.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all contributors whose expertise and commitment made this work possible. Their collective efforts have been instrumental in shaping a framework that supports meaningful transformation in engineering education globally.
