Engineering X at the Royal Academy of Engineering has announced its Skills for Safety Impact Grants, providing funding to support initiatives that strengthen engineering skills, capacity, collaboration, and safety culture, particularly in Lower- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).
The grant programme seeks to support organizations and partnerships working to improve engineering safety through skills development, knowledge sharing, and the expansion of successful approaches.
Funding Available
Eligible applicants may apply for:
- Up to £25,000 for projects led by individual organizations
- Up to £50,000 for projects delivered by a consortium
Approximately £500,000 is expected to be awarded through the programme.
Areas of Focus
The Impact Grants are designed to support projects that:
- Scale proven engineering skills and safety initiatives
- Strengthen collaboration across engineering organizations and communities
- Expand successful approaches into new sectors, countries, organizations, or stakeholder groups
- Establish sustainable approaches to knowledge sharing and safer engineering practices
Projects may run for up to 15 months, with projects expected to begin in December 2026.
