The International Conference on Smart Technologies & Education (STE) is annual conference of the International Association of Online Engineering (IAOE) together with the EduNet World Association (EWA) and the International Education Network (EduNet).

STE 2026 is an annual event dedicated to the fundamentals, applications, and experiences in the field of Smart Technologies, Online, Remote, and Virtual Engineering, Virtual Instrumentation and other related new technologies, including

  • Workforce Development & Skills Training – Cybersecurity & Data Science
  • Vocational Training & Advanced Technologies – Education Technology
  • Industrial Engineering & Automation – Entrepreneurship & Innovation
  • Policy & Ethics in Technology – Biomedical Engineering
  • Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning – Sustainable & Green Technologies

A further objective of the conference is to discuss guidelines and new concepts for engineering education in higher and vocational education institutions including emerging technologies in learning, such as: Online and Virtual Labs, MOOCs and Open Learning Resources. STE 2026 will offer an exciting technical programme as well as networking opportunities. The EduNet Forum will take place during the conference. It will feature presentations organised by Phoenix Contact and industry workshops.

Other ways to participate

Posters/workshops/tutorials, interactive demonstrations and exhibitions can also be proposed. Prospective organizers of other STE 2026 events are encouraged to contact the conference chair.

Proposals for the STE 2026 conference may be submitted in the following formats (online presentations will be possible in separate conference track):

Review/Proceedings

All submissions will undergo a double-blind review process. Please note our ‘Review-to-Publish’ policy.

All accepted and presented papers will be published as STE 2026 Proceedings in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems. The books of these series are submitted to ISI Proceedings, EI-Compendex, DBLP, SCOPUS, Google Scholar and Springerlink. Selected award-winning papers will be recommended for publication in international journals.
