Dr. Jin Ho Chang, the Dean of the College of Transdisciplinary Studies at DGIST, received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Sogang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2000 and 2002, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, in 2007. From 2002 to 2003, he was a Research Engineer at the Digital Media Research Laboratory, LG Electronics Inc., Seoul. He was a Post-Doctoral Research Associate with the NIH Resource Center for Medical Ultrasonic Transducer Technology, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, for two years after receiving his Ph.D. degree. From 2010 to 2020, he worked as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor at Sogang University. He has served as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics, and Frequency Control since 2014, and he was a member of the technical committee of the International Congress on Ultrasonics (ICU) in 2017. Also, he has been a Board Member of the Acoustic Society of Korea since 2015, the Korean Society for Therapeutic Ultrasound since 2018, Daegu National Science Museum since 2021, and the Korean Society of Medical & Biological Engineering.

His research interests include medical ultrasound imaging and therapeutic systems, combined ultrasound and light imaging and therapy, deep learning algorithms for ultrasound imaging, and biomedical signal and image processing. He has published about 80 international peer-reviewed papers including Nature Photonics and Journal of Controlled Release. Also, he holds over 70 domestic and international registered patents. Also, he has transferred a number of technologies related to biomedical engineering for commercialization, receiving over $1 million in return.
