Dr. Priestly Shan received his Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and Communication from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University in 2003 and Masters in Communication Systems in 2006 and PhD in Bio-Medical Engineering from Anna University, in 2010. He joined Galgotias university in June 2018 as Professor and Dean of School of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and in December 2019 he took charge as Dean Academics of Galgotias University. An eminent academician and efficient administrator, proficient and experienced personality who was at the forefront of bringing in some radical changes in academics & administration wherever he worked. As an enthusiastic person towards implementation of Outcome based education Practices, has guided the institutions towards NBA and NAAC accreditations. He has published more than 74 research papers in National and International Journals and Conferences. He has guided 47 M.Tech Scholars and 9 PhD Scholars. Before Joining Galgotias University, he has served at positions of Principal, Dean Planning and Development at Eranad Knowledge City, Royal Engineering College and St Josephs Engineering College in Kerala for a period of 14 years. 

He is the nominee of “Academic Leadership Award” in “International Business and Academic Excellence Awards (IBAE-2019)”, RULA RESEARCH RATNA AWARDS-2019 by International Journal for Research Under Literal Access, and Out Standing Branch Support Award IEEE USA – 2006. He is an ISO 9001:2015 Certified Lead auditor (QMS) and is also trained on ZED (Zero Effect, Zero Defect manufacturing) auditing, an initiative by Government of India. His areas of Interest include Signal Processing, Computer vision, and is currently working on development of Human activity recognition systems. He has organized 8 International Conferences, 4 National Conferences and has delivered 173 Lectures in the areas of computer vision and its applications in Bio-Medical Engineering at various forums as guest speaker. He has served as PhD Thesis examiner for Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Anna University, Karunya University, Bharathidhasan University, Noorul Islam University, Kalasalingam University, CUSAT and has evaluated 73 PhD thesis. He has served as reviewer for various International Journals including IEEE Access, Springer SVIP, Journal of Digital Imaging, Current Medical Imaging Bentham Science, IRBM- Elsivr. He has been awarded grants by AICTE under Research Promotion Scheme, MODROBS, Conference Grants and Kerala State Council for Science and Technology for research for various developmental programs. 

He is a member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Life member of International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), Affiliate member of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (ISTE), Member Quality Council of India (QCI) and Member of Computer Society of India. He has also served in the Executive council of IEEE India Council – SSCS chapter and CAS chapter from 2008 – 2012. He has been associated with CII in Low cost automation project evaluation for industries towards Industry 4.O and was core committee member for southern Zone in 2018-19. He is also the co-founder of Hi-field Info Solutions and ADS info Tech and was instrumental in registering 11 Technical Startups sofar. He is also the mentor and advisor for IERU academic programs and JVS classes.
