Liezl van Dyk was awarded a PhD in Industrial Engineering by Stellenbosch University (2013), an MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering by the University of Warwick (2000) and a Bachelors of Engineering degree by University of Pretoria (1996). The South African Institute for Industrial Engineering awarded her a lifelong honorary fellowship in 2020.
She is the Executive Dean of the North-West University Faculty of Engineering and is rated by the National Research Foundation of South Africa as an established researcher with a focus on ICT-supported service systems.
