Yannis Yortsos, Dean of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, will present his thoughts on AI and Engineering Education. He will address the transformative impact AI is expected to have on engineering education, focusing on what is expected to remain constant and what is expected to change as we rapidly enter this new era of AI. His talk will aim to provide a foundation for articulating the new attributes of engineering graduates and how engineering higher education can help shape them.
Bio:
Yannis C. Yortsos is the Dolley Professor of Chemical Engineering, and since 2005, serves as the Dean of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and holds the Dean’s Zohrab Kaprielian Chair. He received a BS (Diploma) from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, and MS and Ph.D. degrees from the California Institute of Technology, all in chemical engineering.
